The Truth About Sustainable Fat Loss (Why Mounjaro Isn’t the Answer)

Mounjaro. Ozempic. Weight-loss injections.

They’re trending everywhere right now. And I get it — the promise of fast results is hard to resist. But here’s the truth: there is no injection that can replace the daily habits, behaviours, and vision it takes to build fat loss that lasts.

My Recent Flare-Up

I’ll be transparent: I’m currently going through one of the worst flare-ups I’ve had in 18 months. My skin, bloating, and period symptoms all came roaring back.

And while travel (and disrupted circadian rhythms) played a role, the real culprit was simple: Percy Pigs. Not one bag, but three, in a single week.

The result? My body isn’t happy. But instead of panicking or reaching for a “quick fix,” I know why it happened and I have a plan to reset. That’s the difference awareness makes.

Why Quick Fixes Don’t Work

Quick fixes mask problems. They don’t solve them. Real, sustainable fat loss comes from:

  1. Habits that repeat daily

    • Planning meals, walking steps, protecting sleep.

    • Simple, boring, consistent actions that actually work.

  2. Behaviours and environment

    • If Percy Pigs are in my bag, they’ll be eaten. That’s not willpower, that’s environment.

    • Success means designing your surroundings so good choices become automatic.

  3. Vision and identity

    • If your only reason for losing weight is “to look good for summer,” the results won’t last.

    • But when your fat loss ties into energy, confidence, and riding performance, it becomes part of who you are — not just a phase.

My Lesson

This flare-up reminded me that sustainable fat loss isn’t about perfection. It’s about noticing patterns, making adjustments, and staying consistent.

I don’t need an injection to fix it. I need awareness, habits, and a clear vision for where I’m going.
